Creating shipments with GLS
To create and manage shipments with GLS or print waybills, reach the "Orders" page by following the path:
Menu > Orders
Select your order to ship
Select the order to ship by clicking on the order number in the first "Reference" column
Selection of the GLS courier and preparation of the shipment
In the “Shipping” box , select GLS
Indicate the recipient country
Indicate the type of print (PDF, Zebra, etc.)
Enter an Incoterm - "International Commerce Terms" – these are trade terms published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) that define the responsibilities of buyers and sellers in international transactions.
Enable the switch (notifications/SMS)” if you want to send your phone number to GLS for notifications
Enable the Order ID in notes switch if you want to insert the order ID in the shipping notes
Add any additional services (such as telephone notification, next-hour delivery, etc.) and add any notes for each additional service (optional)
The number of additional services that can be added is 6.
Select the number of packages for the shipment, you can add packages by clicking the “ + ” symbol next to the “Number of packages” field
Enter the number of packages by filling in the "Weight (in kg)" field and select the package type from the drop-down menu
If the order was received with the Cash on Delivery payment type, the Cash on Delivery field will be automatically populated.
If you want to set up insurance for your package, click on the “Set Up Insurance” link , enter the insurance amount, and select whether the fees are paid by the sender or the recipient.
If the order contains multiple products, you can select which products to include in the shipment. For example, if one or more products are unavailable, you can increase or decrease the number of products to include, or deselect them. In this case, you'll create a partial shipment containing the products to be shipped and can generate a new shipment when the products are available in stock.
You can print the label immediately using the quick print feature by clicking the "Print Label" button . If you need to change the shipping information (change shipping/pickup addresses, store opening hours, etc.), click the "Go to details" button .on addresses, store opening hours, etc.) click on the "Go to detail" button.
Once the label has been printed, you can confirm the shipment by going to the shipping list and clicking "Confirm" in the shipping status column. For more information go to the SHIPPING LIST guide
Once the shipment has been confirmed, it will no longer be possible to make changes to it. All shipment data will be communicated to the courier, including collection instructions, addresses and the number of packages.
Shipment details
The shipment detail page allows you to check and modify the shipment information to be communicated by the courier
The “Shipping” box allows you to modify the information entered during the first phase of shipment creation
The “Destination address” and “Pickup address” boxes contain information for the addresses. – The “Create”
button allows you to create a new address – The “Change” button allows you to select a previously created address – The “Modify” button allows you to modify the information for the selected address.
The “Collection instructions” box allows you to change the opening and closing times of the store and enter instructions for the courier.
Label printing
Click on the "Mark as ready" button at the top right
Click on the “Print label” button . The download of the label in PDF format will begin, which can be printed, and the tracking number will be generated which will be saved in the order so that it can be sent directly to the destination Marketplace order.
To download the created label again, go to the "Shipping" page
Deletion of the shipment
You can delete the GLS shipment from the platform only if it has not been confirmed on the shipping page.
If the shipment has been confirmed, contact your GLS office to cancel the shipment.
